Marquee Hire East Midlands FAQs
Planning an event across the East Midlands is easier with clear answers up front. Whether you are hosting in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire or Lincolnshire, these FAQs explain sizing, power, flooring, heating, safety and scheduling so you can book with confidence.
How far across the East Midlands do you deliver?
We regularly install in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Mansfield, Loughborough, Grantham, Worksop and nearby towns and villages. If you are just outside the region, tell us your postcode and date and we will confirm availability and any travel charges before you book.
What marquee sizes work best for typical East Midlands venues?
From compact garden settings to larger grounds, we match the structure to the guest list and site shape. Smaller family gatherings suit modest footprints, while weddings and corporate functions often need wider spans with space for dining, a bar, and a dance area. Share your numbers and we will recommend a footprint with comfortable circulation space.
Do you provide flooring for soft or uneven ground?
Yes. Boarded flooring with carpet creates a stable, level surface on grass, gravel or hard standing. If the area has a gentle slope, we will plan entrances and walkways to maintain safe access and a tidy finish.
Can the marquees be heated for cooler evenings?
They can. We size heating to the structure and season, positioning units safely with clear airflow. Our team will also brief you on simple controls so you can maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the event.
What lighting options do you recommend for evening events?
It depends on the atmosphere you want. Warm globe or festoon lighting gives even coverage for parties, uplighters add depth for formal dining, and feature fittings work well over top tables, bars or stages. We combine ambient and task lighting so guests can dine, chat and dance comfortably.
Is furniture available and can you help with layouts?
Yes. We hire round and rectangular tables, a choice of chairs, linens and dance floors. We will propose a floor plan that balances seating, serving routes and clear space for speeches or entertainment, then adjust it to your schedule and caterer’s needs.
Do you work with schools, councils and charities in the region?
Frequently. We support open days, sports days, markets and fundraisers across the East Midlands. We can coordinate with site teams, arrange access windows, provide paperwork and plan safe installation on fields, playgrounds or car parks.
Is your equipment insured and safety tested?
Public liability cover is in place and electrical items are regularly inspected, including PAT testing. Once the marquee is handed over you are responsible for the hired items, so please keep the site secure, especially overnight.
What deposit and payment methods do you accept?
A 25% non-refundable deposit secures your date and equipment. The balance is due shortly before installation. Payment can be made by card or bank transfer. If paying by transfer, allow time for funds to clear ahead of delivery.
How do you handle poor weather in the East Midlands?
Our structures are designed for typical British conditions and we monitor forecasts closely. If high winds or severe weather are predicted we will advise on safe operation and, in rare cases, may need to adjust timings or reschedule for safety. We will discuss options with you as early as possible.
When do you install and collect?
We normally install midweek ahead of your event and collect shortly after. If your venue has strict access times, let us know early and we will schedule around them. Please ensure the area is clear, level and accessible so our team can set up efficiently.
Can we add our own décor inside the marquee?
You are welcome to style the space. To protect the structure, avoid fixing items directly to the framework or fabric. We can suggest safe methods for signage and florals and supply accessories that achieve the look without risking damage.
What site preparation do you recommend?
Cut grass shortly before installation, remove debris, and identify any underground services such as sprinklers or cables. If placing on hard standing, tell us so we can plan appropriate anchoring. Clear access routes help us keep the schedule on track.
