Terms & Conditions for Marquee Hire
PRICE & PAYMENT
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. The full balance must be paid at least three days before the scheduled delivery date via cash, credit/debit card, or BACS transfer. Cheque payments cannot be accepted at delivery and must clear at least 10 days prior to delivery. If a customer defaults on payment, the company reserves the right to engage debt recovery agents, with all associated costs recoverable from the hirer.
INSURANCE
Our insurance policy covers marquees and equipment against risks except theft, wanton damage, or vandalism. The hirer is responsible for the first £1,000 of any claim unless an excess waiver has been arranged. Additional insurance cover is available upon request. The company holds public liability insurance of £1 million, but it is the hirer's responsibility to secure equipment at all times, particularly if the event is held on public or third-party land. If our team encounters access issues upon collection, the hirer remains responsible for the equipment until retrieval.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
For safety reasons, the company reserves the right to decline marquee erection if severe weather conditions are forecasted. A wind management plan will be provided, which the hirer must follow. If wind speeds exceed the advised safety threshold, the company may issue instructions for securing or dismantling the marquee. Failure to follow this guidance could result in liability for damage. Refunds are not issued for cancellations due to weather unless pre-arranged weather insurance has been purchased.
DAMAGE & LOSS
The hirer is responsible for any missing or damaged items. No objects should be fixed, taped, or suspended from the marquee linings, marquee lighting, or structural framework. A minimum cleaning fee of £50 will be applied if adhesives such as tape are used. Chairs with excessive soiling will incur a £5 cleaning fee per chair, and irreparable items must be replaced at the hirer’s expense.
COLLECTION & ACCESS
Equipment is typically collected within three days of the event. The hirer must ensure site accessibility for removal; failure to do so will result in additional hire charges. If specific collection times are required, the hirer must provide written notice at least two weeks prior to the event date. Items not belonging to Marshall’s Marquees must be removed from the structure before collection. The company is not liable for damages to personal items left inside the marquee.
MARQUEE STRUCTURE & SETUP
Once the marquee hire is completed, openings and exits should not be altered without prior approval, as modifications can affect structural integrity. For flooring installations, such as marquee flooring, the ground must be level and clear of obstructions before setup. The hirer must cut grass short and remove debris, including pet waste, to avoid additional cleaning fees or delays.
SAFETY MEASURES
For safety reasons, the hirer must not enter the structure while our team is setting up. During the event, guests should avoid tampering with marquee heaters, power leads, and marquee lighting. The use of unapproved electrical equipment may result in overloaded circuits and power failures.
LIABILITY & CANCELLATION POLICY
The company is not liable for cancellations or delays resulting from:
- Inaccessible or unsafe sites
- Adverse weather conditions
- Failure to obtain necessary permits or permissions
All cancellations must be made in writing via email, including the booking reference.
- Cancellations within seven days of booking are eligible for a full refund unless the event date falls within seven days of cancellation.
- Cancellations after seven days of booking but before seven days of delivery forfeit the 25% deposit, with any additional payments refunded.
- Cancellations within seven days of the event date will be charged at 100% of the hire fee.
